This morning in my German class, my professor (and husband) asked where we liked to go shopping. None of the guys admitted to shopping, but finally Nick said, "Wally World." Images of Chevy Chase, a dead grandmother tied to the top of a station wagon, and a land of roller coasters came to mind. Ian looked just as confused as I felt...had we been living here a year and not known of a theme park??? Guadalajara's is a decent place to get Mexican food, but had we been missing out on fun in Danville, Kentucky??? I pictured Nick buying t-shirts, water globes, and key chains galore with Chevy Chase imprinted on each one! Where could I get some of this, I thought??? And next time someone visits, we're not only going to the local Bourbon factory and Civil War Battlefield, but also Wally World, where one can buy Chevy Chase souvenirs! Maybe they'd not only have Vacation memorabilia, but also Fletch and Caddyshack stuffed animals and magnets...
But alas, my excitement was short-lived. It turns out that "Wally World" in Danville-speak is just plain ol' Walmart...where one can buy Chevy Chase souvenirs--maybe we do have a theme park in Danville! So come on by and visit, and Ian and I will take you to Danville's Wally World!

Ah, Wally World. Have these kids all _seen_ _Vacation_? Is this a general name for Wal-Fart--is it a national name for the delivery of their particular brown product? If it's local, can it be an accident that there's a Chevy Chase neighborhood up in Sexington?
LaHacienda on Third Street is the best place to get Mexican in Danville.
